Jackson Hogg is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join the Operations Maintenance Support team. This full-time, permanent role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects for customers in the oil and gas industry, providing mechanical engineering expertise across various sites in the UK and Europe. The position is primarily based in Stockton but requires regular travel, with work scheduled Monday to Thursday at different UK locations (with additional remuneration for time spent away).
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering asset integrity, reliability, statutory compliance, and continuous improvement for customers. This includes providing expert guidance on mechanical engineering matters, overseeing maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide mechanical engineering expertise, guidance, and support for shutdowns, planned/unplanned events, incidents, projects, modifications, and improvement initiatives.
- Ensure effective asset integrity, reliability, and statutory compliance.
- Maintain and improve mechanical engineering systems, processes, and performance to meet operational and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and update technical documentation, including procedures, drawings, and specifications.
- Support the development of functional design specifications for new plant developments, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
- Conduct audits and ensure findings are addressed effectively.
- Lead and manage personnel across multiple sites, maintaining high operational and safety standards.
- Contribute to safety initiatives, reporting and implementing measures to uphold safe working practices and technical safety reviews.
Requirements:
- HNC or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a 24/7 industrial environment, with expertise in maintenance, fault finding, contract and outage management, and continuous improvement.
- Strong knowledge of SHEQ systems, CMMS, full project lifecycles, PSSR, control valves, and actuator types.
- Ability to read and interpret design specifications and technical drawings.
