Structural Engineer
Jackson Hogg is delighted to be recruiting for a Structural Engineer on behalf of a leading project delivery specialist providing full turnkey EPC solutions to the bulk material handling and plant processing markets.
Key Responsibilities of the Structural Engineer

Review project specifications and confirm the scope of structural works.

Prepare Civil/Structural Basis of Design summaries and ensure designs align with project requirements.

Develop and validate structural analysis models to generate accurate loadings and assess structural performance.

Produce hand calculations, technical drawings, and calculation reports to support project documentation.

Check outputs to ensure analytical models, calculations, and drawings are accurate and compliant.
-
Support design checking processes and quality assurance requirements.
-
Attend site surveys, client meetings, and design/model reviews as required.

Escalate any changes to scope or technical queries promptly to the Project Engineer.

Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 processes, quality standards, and company policies.

Contribute to team knowledge sharing, mentoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements of the Structural Engineer:
Essential:
-
BEng (Hons) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
-
Proven experience in civil/structural design within engineering or construction environments.
-
Proficiency in structural analysis software (STAAD Pro or Tekla Structures).
-
Strong understanding of load cases, structural behaviour, and compliance with codes and standards.
-
Experience producing technical reports, drawings, and calculations.
-
Excellent time management and ability to meet project deadlines.
-
Strong communication skills, able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable:
-
Experience in bulk material handling, plant processing, or heavy engineering sectors.
-
Knowledge of additional analysis or design software.
-
Experience in site surveys and interfacing with contractors or clients.
