Overview
We are seeking an experienced and qualified maintenance technician to join our team on a shift roster. The role involves maintaining and supporting a wide range of equipment and systems. This is a hands-on role requiring a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and the capacity to work independently to ensure service availability and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform incident resolution, maintenance, monitoring, and delivery of service requests, ensuring a high level of service provision at all times.
- Lead the response during major incidents to ensure a fast resolution, minimising business impact; assist in investigations to determine and resolve root causes.
- Identify and implement improvements to address recurring issues through the Problem Management process.
- Monitor and record equipment reliability, availability, and performance, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
- Ensure distributed services and configuration records adhere to operational standards, maintaining an up-to-date maintenance database.
- Carry out configuration, testing, installation, and maintenance of software across supported systems.
- Undertake proactive engineering and process development aimed at improving reliability, security, and resilience.
- Deliver planned maintenance and repairs to agreed specifications and performance standards, ensuring materials and tools are available for scheduled work.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of technical knowledge bases, user training materials, and operational documentation.
- Document, review, and maintain processes, work instructions, and safe systems of work.
- Support ICT project delivery by implementing technical changes and improvements.
- Assist in the development and operation of availability and capacity management processes to reduce service outages.
- Support ICT risk management processes, including business continuity, disaster recovery planning, and contingency testing.
- Train and mentor colleagues in ICT policies, security requirements, and safe working practices.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety policies and procedures.
Essential Requirements
- Recognised apprenticeship and Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Proven experience working with electrical installations and equipment.
- Strong technical competence with distributed systems and endpoint devices.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and resolve issues under pressure.
- A valid driving licence is essential – please note that without a valid driving license, you will not be considered for this role.
