Project Manager (Capital Projects)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join a well-established manufacturing organisation operating within a highly regulated process environment.

This role will lead multiple electrical and site infrastructure projects from concept through to commissioning, ensuring safe, compliant and cost-effective delivery within a live manufacturing facility.

The Role

You will take ownership of electrical engineering and capital investment projects, working closely with operations, EHS, engineering teams and specialist electrical contractors.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing full project lifecycle delivery (concept to commissioning and handover)

• Leading electrical infrastructure upgrades, plant modifications and improvement projects

• Developing detailed project scopes, specifications and technical requirements

• Producing and maintaining project plans and financial controls

• Managing electrical contractors and installation teams on-site

• Overseeing FAT / SAT and electrical commissioning activities

• Ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards and site regulations (including DSEAR / CDM where applicable)

• Supporting control system upgrades and plant automation improvements

• Writing URS documentation and managing procurement processes (RFQ / tender evaluation)

• Tracking and communicating project progress across stakeholders

About You

We are seeking a technically strong Project Manager with a clear electrical engineering background, ideally gained within chemical, process or heavy manufacturing environments.

Essential Experience:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience delivering electrical projects within a process or industrial manufacturing environment

• Experience working within COMAH or similarly regulated sites

• Proven experience managing electrical contractors and installation works

• Strong understanding of industrial power distribution, control systems or plant automation

• Experience delivering projects within live operational environments

Qualifications:

• Degree / HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering (or closely related discipline)

• PRINCE2, PMP, APM PMQ or equivalent project management qualification

• IOSH / NEBOSH / SMSTS (desirable)

Technical Knowledge:

• Strong electrical engineering foundation (industrial systems)

• Knowledge of electrical compliance standards and safe systems of work

• Understanding of DSEAR, CDM and industrial regulatory frameworks

• Experience with FAT / SAT and commissioning of electrical systems

• Procurement and contract management experience

• Competent in MS Project, Excel and reporting tools

• Basic AutoCAD awareness (advantageous)
