Jackson Hogg is partnered with an exciting early-stage company innovating in the High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) space. As they build brand recognition, they are looking for a sales leader who thrives in the hunt and enjoys breaking into established markets.
The Role
They are looking for a Sales Leader to take full ownership of revenue growth, both in the U.S. and internationally. You will lead and scale our direct sales team in the United States, manage a handful of international distributors, and personally own key strategic deals.
You must be a hunter — relentless in opening doors, getting to decision-makers, and structuring creative deals that move sales forward without compromising margin as the default lever.
This is a role for someone who knows how to navigate technical sales, speak to all stakeholders (Economic, Strategic, User, Technical, and Coach), and drive urgency without relying on brand awareness to do the heavy lifting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Scale Sales: Manage and grow a team of direct sales representatives in the U.S. and selected international distributors.
- Own the Sales Process: Architect and refine a sales methodology that effectively engages all buyer personas and accelerates deal velocity, including evaluation/demo cycles when needed.
- Drive New Business: Personally engage in strategic hunting, especially in key accounts and new verticals. You’re not afraid to pick up the phone or walk the floor at a lab.
- Coach Relentlessly: Train reps on how to structure deals, ask the tough questions, overcome objections, and close without defaulting to discounts.
- Pipeline Management & Forecasting: Own the pipeline, from top-of-funnel activity to closed-won revenue. Report clearly and confidently on forecasts and targets.
- Strategic Deal Structuring: Proven ability to structure and close competitive and creative deals.
- Align with Product and Marketing: Collaborate closely with technical teams to align messaging, address objections, and inform go-to-market strategy.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years in complex B2B technical sales in life sciences, instrumentation, or analytical chemistry markets.
- Proven track record of new business development — you're a true hunter, not a farmer.
- Experience managing and scaling direct sales teams and distributor networks.
- Expertise in multi-stakeholder enterprise sales: you know how to work each buyer type and get consensus.
- Familiarity with evaluation-driven sales processes (e.g., demos, proof of concepts, pilot studies).
- High tolerance for hearing "no" — and the ability to turn it into a "yes".
- Proven capability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, low-structure startup environment.
- Strong commercial instincts — you know when to push on price and when to hold the line.
- Willingness to travel as needed (domestic and occasional international).
