The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) will lead the company’s commercialisation, market development, and NHS adoption strategy for its medical device and AI-driven diagnostics portfolio.
The role begins as a fractional or part-time appointment, with the potential to expand rapidly to a full-time leadership position as measurable traction and results are achieved (e.g., NHS pilots, commercial contracts, or partnerships secured).
This is a results-oriented position for a commercially seasoned professional with direct experience bringing medical technologies to market within the NHS, coupled with strong, active connections to NHS decision-makers, procurement leads, and clinical champions.
Key Responsibilities
NHS Market Development & Commercialisation

Lead the company’s go-to-market and adoption strategy for its medical device and AI diagnostic offerings.

Drive early market seeding within NHS Trusts, Integrated Care Systems (ICSs), and innovation networks.

Leverage established NHS relationships to secure pilot sites, early adopters, and clinical champions.

Navigate NHS procurement and commissioning pathways, ensuring compliant and efficient entry.

Identify and utilise NHS innovation and adoption frameworks (e.g., AHSNs, NHS Supply Chain, SBS, or G-Cloud routes).
Strategic Partnerships & Business Development

Establish partnerships with hospitals, AHSNs, innovation accelerators, and healthcare consortia.

Represent the company in NHS and medtech industry networks and at relevant events.

Negotiate collaboration and commercial agreements that drive adoption and revenue growth.

Support post-market engagement and real-world evidence generation initiatives that reinforce clinical and commercial validation.
Commercial Leadership & Growth

Develop and execute a clear commercial roadmap tied to company milestones.

Work with the CEO, CVO, and technical teams to align product delivery with market requirements.

Create pricing, reimbursement, and sustainability strategies tailored to NHS procurement models.

Contribute to the company’s overall financial and strategic direction with a commercial lens.
Governance & Reporting

Maintain structured bi-weekly communication with executive leadership and the Board.

Report progress through defined commercial KPIs, pipeline metrics, and partnership milestones.

Ensure compliance with medical device regulations, procurement policies, and ethical standards.

Qualifications & Experience

Proven success (5+ years) in commercialising medical devices or diagnostics within the NHS.

Established, active NHS network with decision-makers, procurement officers, and clinical champions.

Track record of market seeding and adoption in healthcare innovation environments.

Strong understanding of NHS funding, procurement, and commissioning processes.

Experience with early-stage, high-growth healthtech or medtech companies.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across clinical, technical, and commercial domains.

Financial and negotiation acumen; capable of designing sustainable, evidence-based business models.

Ideally, experience in other regions such as Europe, MENA, or the US.
